My wife is doing her masters in phoenetics, and is an editor, all of which makes her a massive word nerd, and through association, I am a junior word nerd.
So I can say with some confidence, that as far as the word academics are concerned, correct spelling and word usage is defined by common usage.
So naf is both a grumpy old man, and right.
Still, fun with words is fun...chewsday still amuses me
