so the new X99 and the 2011-3 sets are out and are looking to be a good bump from the x79 series.

been watching a few vids about them this morning
<iframe width="854" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tnU_bzKqwbY?fs=1&start=" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

seems to have all the good things from the Haswell CPU but for the enthusiast end of the market.
Now like the x79 market it seems to be fairly expensive to get into but is aimed for long term use and would not be refreshed as often.

would any of you guys be hitting up Bohica about refreshing to this??

It will be a huge jump in performance no doubt.  I would wait at least 6 months till prices stabalize.
Also wait for Dx 12 cards as well.  For me I'm done and dusted with gaming and upgrading.

Yeah DDR4 aint going to be cheap for a while either. Plus not many games get more than 5% increase in more cores than 4. That might improve in time but certainly reduces any gaming benefit to be worth it. But lets face it, not like AMD are putting out much for intel to have to compete with at the top end.

AMD are they still around? SKT 939 was the last good one on the nforce 4 chipset. Now its all black and red branded shit tbh.
