Blarhg.
I want to get into the settings for my emails accounts on windows 7 but I can't figure out how.
I want to see the pop3 settings etc so I can duplicate onto a new machine. I don't want to export anything, just see the settings with my eyeballs.
I used to do it all the time in XP, but windows 7 seems to give you access to all of those settings to setup the thing, but after that, no no bad man, no touchee no lookee.
I have found many sites like this
http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/add-an-email-account-by-using-advanced-settings-HA010371264.aspx
Telling me how to set one up, but I want to edit one, and see all of those wonderful windows you see in the link above.
All I can do is change the password.

You try going into Control Panel and then the Mail(32bit) application?

Should list all the different types of email accounts you have setup including pop3 ones and view there settings.

I figured it out. My main client is a MAPI file, whatever that is. I was able to setup a new pop3 account and the software worked out all the ports and what not for me, and let me view the properties. I don't know what a MAPI account is, but I assume it is something to do with gmail who host my emails.

you would probably find it is an IMAP account. if you check out the gmail help they have a setup guide for all of the major email clients out there.
