Guys I need to know if this is a movie. Will give a steam reward if this is true.
The movie stars children in the 80s who play a console type game. As they progress in the game they unlock secret levels or mods.
These mods / levels are from the government and they teach the child how to play / pilot a mech.
The mechs fight on earth and at the end of the movie the camera pans out an show 3 or 4 houses left with a couple of kids in each playing defending their house.
Why I want to know is my line manager is trying to recall it from his youth an is unsure if it's a movie or a tv show he saw. Double kudos if you know how to get a copy.
Post here the movie titles you think it is and I will pass it on to him. Of it matches what he knows you will be rewarded.
Cheers

It's not anime or cartoon. It's real life acting.

I think I've seen the movie he's talking about at the video store when I was a kid, and that's about all the help I can give you Edit: Could it be WarGames? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WarGames

I have it on my hard drive, could upload to dropbox if you want.
Seaquest DSV was really cool... for the first season. Quickly lost interest in season 2

In my opinion, SeaQuest lost it's appeal after the whole "the sub gets taken to another planet" storyline... before that it was pretty cool... still have all three seasons on disk here for the occasional hit of nostalgia

fun fact: the 3D graphics used in Seaquest DSV were created on an Amiga running Video Toaster.
