Hi guys sorry I havnt posted in ur forums since the start of my trial. To tell you the truth I have been really pissed off at bf3 because when I play it I can usually only get 1 or 2 games in a session. What happens you ask? Well my bf3 crashes and it's starting to really piss me off. So i will be playing bf3 and all of a sudden the screen goes black and the comes back on but it's in the desktop. Bf3 is still on and open but it's just on the desktop. The mouse I can't move because I think it thinks it's still in the game thinking I'm playing. The only way I can get mouse back is if I alt+tab out and it will be able to move. (windows7) when I click on the bf3 icon the mouse disappears again and it won't work. The desktop stays the same. I have just given up. I have tried lots of things because I went to a website and that had tonnes of comments/ suggestions. I currently have a nvidia gigabyte 560ti and by the looks of things I think that seems to be the problem because I see some other people having the same problem. I have done everything short of over/under clocking my graphics. Can anyone help me please so I can get back to playing and hopefully see you guys out in the field.

Hmm,have you tried the basics -
Have you updated your graphics card drivers to latest version?

Are you sure you aren't accidentally hitting the windows key, this can cause some games to minimise? Have a look at this to disable it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216893

Do you have something running in the background that starts up and is stealing focus? Go here http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ download and run hijackthis then attach the log file.

I had a similar issue,  i would get black screen... i would hear the game sound etc and the only way to get it back would be to force reboot my pc.
Turned out it was the PCI-e cables running to the vid card, replaced them and since then no issue.

try,
a) Disable all background software
b) uninistalling the drivers from add/remove programs
Reboot,
install latest NVIDIA drivers
If this fails rinse and repeat with rolled back drivers (try say 3 months ago)
c) Try a new PCIE slot if you have more than 1.

You can see if its a BF3 thing by playing another GFX intensive game and try replicate the crash Smiley

Switch off the origin ingame chat as well, it was causing me all kinds of problems. I'm not sure what Cow was doing because I figured that out months ago.

Thanks for all of the replys I have tried installing new drivers and that. I really don't want to try under clocking but if it turns out like that I might have too. I have disabled the ingame chat. I have already tried to disable all programs in the background and set the focus to max on the processor but all these things fail. Might try donut kings subjection about that error log.  I'm not at my computer now. I will try post tomoz night , going to funeral tomz Sad. Anyhow I will try these suggestions again tomoz maybe but don't get my hopes up. Who knows, nvidia might have got their shit together. I'm sure it's bf3 problem and I'm not hitting the windows key donutking ;P lol I wish it was that simple.
See you all tomorrow! PDT_Armataz_01_06
