So I just got my new laptop... I specced it out as best I could so as it lasts, but a problem has arisen.

My processor is the i7 type that comes bundled with Intel HD graphics, and basically everything seems wholly unable to register my actual graphics card (a AMD Radeon HD 6630M).

I tried disabling the Intel graphics driver, but that forced my maximum screen resolution to be 1024x768 - suggesting it wasn't running any dedicated graphics.

Any way I can set priority for my AMD graphics (or even have it registered) at all?

Sorry, I don't see anything on that website to help me at all.

It's possible that the graphics card just doesn't want to run the desktop...
And testing it with FO3 probably isn't the best idea...
Once BF3 downloads in a few hours I'll see if it works properly on that.

Is this on a Lenovo laptop? I have an E520 (same graphics card anyway) and had the same problem with a couple games. My problem was that the power plan was set to 'power saving' so used integrated graphics when gaming, changed it to 'high performance' and it then utilized the 6630M when gaming.

Also I think there's a section in the AMD drivers where you can set individual application .exe's to high performance.

EDIT: Also check device manager, under 'Display Adaptors', see if it has the 6630M there as well as the integrated graphics.

I think my Lenovo model is the same. It shows up under Display Adapters, and I've just set it to high performance. Hopefully all goes well with BF3.

Good luck, PM if you have any problems and I'll try help. I don't use my laptop for gaming though just uni shit and the occasional game of LOL at uni haha. Quite a decent laptop for $500 with a free 500gb hard drive when I bought mine as well Smiley
