I'm sure with all the photos you have of chal's mum in compromising positions, you don't need to add that kind of images to your collection.

Hey Nora, Glad to hear you are ok and doing better. I high sided off my GSXR 1000 back in 2002, I was very lucky as I stayed in my lane and only somersaulted a little bit. I snapped my knee ligaments and had a purple ass for weeks. I got back on the bike after surgery and 6 months of rehab. I kept riding for 6 months then sold the bike as I had lost confidence in myself, and you can't ride without confidence you will just fuck up.
I often think about riding again, but at the moment with two small kids that depend on me I have judged the risk to be to high. I suggest take it slow man, no use rushing back onto a bike when you don't have to.

Thanks Mone. Agree totally, not rushing into anything, tackling rehab and getting back on my feet for now. Riding again isn't really something I've been thinking about. But bugger me if it isn't fun getting a great reaction out of the olds and ex when i start talking about a new bike

Thought i'd give you all a lil update on how things are travelling.
Went back to the Alfred last friday for a round of x-rays and a quick chat with the doc. Tops of Femurs are all clear, no evidence of the bone dying off, and the fractures are healing as expected.
Have been cleared to give the left pin a go next week, apparently the fracture in the pelvis is in a non weight bearing area so now the fun begins. Cant load up on the right leg due to the ankle yet, will have to wait for the next review in 4 weeks.
As far as movement is concerned, what i have been able to move is 100% except my right knee. im about 50 off. Not sure what is wrong there but they suspect i may have done some soft tissue damage. And they wont be able to tell until i can put weight on that leg to test the ligaments, so for the moment i can't do fark all about it.
Started abductions on my left hip this week and get 00 without the leg being supported in mid air. In mid air i've only managed 100 so far. None of the limits on my movements are becuase of pain, it's like the muscles hit a limit and just stop. It's a weird feeling.
A little anxious about getting back up, it will have been 6 weeks since i've stood up and i was already uncoordinated before i had the accident

Good to see your doing okay mate. I'm not comparing my injuries to yours but i know what the feeling is like when you can't move a limb due to uncooperative muscles. I had a bad fall on my bike a few years ago and badly broke my arm and wrist. After the bones healed i could not move my arm or wrist. Took weeks of physio to get it back to normal. Takes a while but you will get there.

good to hear that your getting back on track mate but do you really need to stand, you could take up gaming as a pro and would not have to worry much about standing there are some good rigs you can get out there with this i am sure you could get it started pretty good

I even used to have the chair that he (I assume he) modified into whatever the hell that is... For some reason this makes me a little scared...

See although i generally accept that if i ever rode a dirt bike, that i'd have been a better rider on the road. But trees scare the shit out of me for a dirt bike. Always to the response that cars scare the shit out of people who ride dirt bikes haha. Still didn't stop me from totaling my old bike tho. I catch the bus now

A dirt bike and road bike require completely different riding styles. Couldn't tell you what caused my crash, and honestly i'm not really thinking too much about it. No point, I'll concentrate on the enjoyment of riding and be back on one as soon as I can

Another quick update. Heading home on Saturday and cannot wait. A little anxious as I've had alot of other shit to deal with while I've been here and I'm hoping that I've got my head sorted out in regards to all that. But mostly looking forward to being able to spend some time with the kids. Been hopping around on the left leg since Monday, and it is the weirdest feeling having to think about activating muscle groups to do what most do unconsciously. And it really takes it out of you. I get a couple of minutes range before I get fatigued and my leg starts to get shakey.

For anyone who hasn't been through rehab. Stand on one leg and close your eyes. As you keep your balance, think about what muscles are doing any work. That probably about as close as you could get to what i have to do with eyes open when i stand up.
