government as he said should only be there to protect life, liberty etc...

All they need to pay for is the common resources and public resources. Which are the stuff that cant have a price put on (like lighthouses, national defense etc). When they start interfering with the private sector, it causes market failure, and everyone loses.

Corporations set a price on their goods. If it is too high, the prices decrease and people stop buying their stuff. However, the government come in and give out subsidies and all this other crap, which allows corporations to increase prices because the government will pay the difference.

How many people would go to university if a degree cost $20,000-$100,000 and they had to pay it all up front, twice a year with no government support? I daresay no one would. But just like he said, because the government offers subsidies, and payment plans, universities can put their prices up and not have to worry about the consequences.
