Yer so I am with bigpond cable and it works ok but atleast twice a year lighting hits my Internet and takes it out and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to stop this or change providers or get adsl Please help me

Having said that, cable is the way to go for gaming.  Better latency and on average, better speed.

I get pings of 10-20ms on ADSL2, and the only outages I've had have been modem issues.

Speeds are only around 1-1.5MB/second though.

Hey, more details, what does your modem do... after lightning, not turn on.... fails to connect, uncontactable  by ethernet connection... as a simply UPS may fix all and any future issue's.....
