all knowing chalice, whatever happened to those cartridges that consoles used? they were so cool! and unlike todays technology if it wasnt working, you'd hit it and blow down it's hole thingy and it would work again, nowadays you do that and there's a high chance you'll break it.

What happened to these retro beauties?

Well Karnage...I'm glad you asked.

Tis a sad, sad tale that documents the rise and fall of the humble and somewhat alluring cartidge.

The Cartridges days were numbered when compact disks arrived on the scene and before you know it, the cartridge was out classed.

Now i'm no crack head conspiracy theorist...but, there's rumours that in the 90's there was a secret plan codenamed "Feeding Frenzy" was in development in the U.S..

The plan entailed that they ship all the cartridges over to third world countries and claim they could be eaten as toast and contained all the nutrients a starving Rwandan needed.  Eager to feed their starving people these countries accepted this token offer of friendship and to this very day, people in india and africa still toast their cartridges for breakfast.

Here's a photo sent in by Mujahari Slingbottom of India, proving that operation "feeding frenzy" actually did occur.

Hope that helps,

Chalice
