Not to be a kill joy but that makes no sense. I am visually seeing an 18 rating on the image above and wonder how the fuck the game made it rhough.
Same way other games that would be better suited for an R18+ rating made it through as MA15+ I'd imagine.
When if we look at other titles such as Fallout which had to be resubmitted due to drug references, how does the duke get past our fucked up classification system ?
From memory the main issue with Fallout was their reference to a real life drug, Morphine, which they shanged to med-X. So maybe Duke just uses fictional drugs? The only drugs in DN3D were steroids IIRC so they might have just called it something else.
Maybe the tongue-in-cheek nature of the game helped diminsh its impact somewhat... plus perhaps the relatively recent publicity towards games censorship has influenced the OFLC to show some lenience.
DN3D only had very minimal nudity and I can't remember if boobs were ever a big issue for the OFLC? I know Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude got banned but that was pretty heavy on the boobage and the entire subject matter was basically just meaningless sex so...
I can't access the OFLC site as it seems to be getting hammered but normally if it had been submitted and knocked back requiring changes, there'd be a report for the failed classification attempt as well.
