but at the same time, they risk their lives for us, so if we can chip in a few dollars each to make them happy, so be it.

Only a small % of the defence force ACTUALLY risk their lives for us and by this..thing...becoming female ..it will no longer BE one of those people even if ...it ...currently is My thought process is this can a Coles worker be able to make Coles pay for a sex change? No..so why the military..its hard enough to get those fuckers to pay for decent medical treatment even when it is their fault..but want your dick chopped off..no prob Male cop, wants to be female...why the hell should the police pay for it? etc. etc. Another factor is this..by taking a hand in this the ADF may have to pay in the future if this..thing..claims mental trauma caused by the treatments..as its their medical staff diagnosing it..IT..can then claim a change of heart and because it is now a permanent impairment thats so mentally and physically "traumatizing" to ...it..IT..will be on a bloody good pension for the rest of its life or at least get well above $200k from it The justifications in granting this BS blows my mind

agree with ya chal - what a load of bs spending this much on one gender confused soilder when they should be spending more on supporting the front line troops when i was in alot of female members were getting breast enlargments (which i am not complaing about ) on the grounds of self confidence - a good female friend actually rocked up to work one day with a noticably larger rack which she explained was fully paid by the adf to improve her self confidence WTF i wonder if forced jerbal removal is on the list of covered medical exspenses

I wish I was still in..I'd claim that I was unable to ejaculate via my own means and that it was extremely painfull unless I offloaded my manjam..then make the ADF pay for high quality escorts to suck and fuck me..thus relieving me of my condition and enabling me to continue active duty P.s. kylie ..I'm allowed my dreams

As ever with things like this, the problem isn't the sex change, it is our ridiculous precedent legal system that is a malignant cancer on our society. How many aspects of our society have been destroyed by litigation and lawsuits like this, things like monkey bars, and see saws, removed from kids playgrounds by litigation and precendent. This is just another example, common sense says that orthodonty and breast augmentation is different from sex reassignment, precendent law will say it is the same thing. The judges need to be made responsible for their decisions and lack of moral fortitude.

Totally agree with this, although I'm hesitant to say that breast augmentation deserves to be paid for by our military- to me this is elective, cosmetic surgery. I would say in certain circumstances, gender reassignment is more deserving of this treatment than breast augmentation. I know of a couple who had a hermaphrodite child (i.e. had both bits) and although it was physically more female than male, they had the penis removed but now the child is growing up with strong male behavioural characteristics and may be starting to develop signs of gender confusion. We don't know the whole story behind this person's condition, perhaps gender reassignment is really the only solution for them. Whereas confidence issues due to having small breasts are going to be easier to treat psychologically than gender confusion stemming from congenital conditions.

this is bullshit, all ok if this guy wants to mutilate himself, but why should the ADF fund it? you'd be surprised at how little the ADF are actually fighting as opposed to other things like engineering, medicine and electronics (I've never seen an ad on a job site about "hey, wanna shoot some people? click here")
there's probably gonna be some poor private getting his ass kicked for saying a chauvinistic joke where a few months ago he would've been a comedic legend for saying it.

Just out of curiosity, why can't women fight on the front line? Is it something to do with the internal body parts that make them women? If that is the case, this "he she" is just a woman on the outside, without the reproductive parts of a woman...
although i spose it would be hard to make body armour to mold around the boobies

I've seen docos about American soldiers, and they had women on the frontline.
Is it true our ADF don't have women on the front line? If so, what good is more confidence if it isn't going to save anyone's life?

There's 3 considerations as to why we dont allow women on the frontlines.
1. The PR consequence...its sad when you see a male digger in his early - mid 20's that has died...now picture an early 20's good looking young blonde girl flashing up on the news as having been shot.
2. If these young women are captured by the enemy..............yeah, now picture a clip showing this same young girl being raped then executed, her breasts cut off etc.. etc..
3. They SMELL ...when I was in they did a trial about this as pressure was mounting to allow women on the frontlines. There were several ripper female soldiers...2 had even passed SAS selection..but.... we played enemy party and were told to start at grid ref A and patrol to Grid ref B and we would come across them...3 -5 kms away fromthere camp we smelt, death..it honestly smelled like something large had died...we'd lose the scent, come back to it...doing this we tracked straight into them. They weren't allowed tampons..if your on Ops you cant expect a blackhawk to drop you tampons huh? Infantry dont shower for weeks at a time..it was this smell...not death.. Men can smell unwashed women from miles away..the same could probably happen vise versa..but yeah
