I don't mind Tom Cruise, he has been in a few stinkers, a few ok's, and a bunch of good movies.

Agreed... i like him in movies, dick in real life, but then almost every actor is... so why care? he cops a lot of crap for scientology, but to me it is just another made up bit of nonsense that someone has chosen to believe in, no different to all the other "religions" on the planet... |

i'm sorry but one bad cameo in tropic thunder, and in comparison to other actors cameos it was bad, does not make up for his one face acting skill, be honest he only has two facial expressions, normal tom and squinting eyes tom, he needs to go back to acting school

saw this last night, really enjoyed it.
The acting was a little wooden, Morgan Freeman seemed to be reading off an autocue, but the story and presentation easily make up for it.
Lots and lots of references to other sci fi movies, the opening sequence is a homage to La Jetee which was awesome. The story had a few twists I didn't see coming at all.
I love a good earth invasion strategy, and Oblivion has a very good one, actually one of the best I've seen or read to date.
Check it out, definitely a big screen film.
