OK trying to get bang for my buck here so help me if I am derailed somewhere in my maths. I am running a Cat with 2 x Gauss. Thus reading the stats it is;
Gauss Rifle - 15 DMG - Every 4 secs (cool down) - DPS = 3.75 - or Average over 10 secs = 30 (2 shots fired)
Plus the Gauss is a 7 slot gun / 15 Ton weapon.
Double this outcome as you can fit 2 on a catapult equals;
2 x Gauss Rifle - 30 DMG - Every 4 secs (cool down) - DPS = 7.5 - or Average over 10 secs = 60 (2 shots fired)
Double the Gauss is a 14 slot requirement for the guns / 30 Ton weapon.
Now, if I strip out the Gaus and put in this;
LB 10-X AC - 10 DMG - Every 3 secs (cool down) - DPS = 3.33 - or Average over 10 secs = 30 (3 shots fired)
Plus the LB 10-X AC is a 6 slot gun / 11 Ton weapon.
Double this outcome as you can fit 2 on a catapult equals;
2 x LB 10-X AC - 20 DMG - Every 3 secs (cool down) - DPS = 6.66 - or Average over 10 secs = 60 (3 shots fired)
Double the LB 10-X AC is a 12 slot requirement for the guns / 22 Ton weapon.
Stripping out the 2xGauss does reduce range but now putting in the LB 10-X AC has freed up slots and tonnage;
- 2 slots free
- 8 ton free
Therefore, adding in 2 x medium lasers (or other beam) to the arms and heat sinks to the torso can add;
2 x Medium Laser - 10 DMG - Every 3 secs (cool down) - DPS = 2.50 - or Average over 10 secs = 30 (3 shots fired)
Would this mean that if I stripped out the Gauss and moved to 2 x LB 10-X AC with 2 x Med Lasers the potential for DPS 9.16 or over 10 secs 90 verse having the 2 x Gaus Rifles doing 7.5 DPS or 60 dmg over 10 secs.
Also mixing the Med Laser with the LB 10-X AC was due to heat / range and cool down as I was looking at min heat, a range that would work best without a dead spot between the two and same cool down (3 Cooldown)
Does this seem like a better build ?
Thoughts feedback, maybe a burning or lynching if you must..........
