You guys may remember this old thread I started.
It's one I have gone back to often to check names of books recommended by you lot.
SO I decided to start a new one with a more meaningful title.
If you want to recommend a book or book series, please do so here.

I have recently listened to the following and much enjoyed them, similar to dresden files Kevin Hearne with the iron druid chronicles

No, not Koran, it's Koan http://www.amazon.com/Toolmaker-Koan-John-McLoughlin/dp/067169779XAgreed, great book, I found it thought provoking, the underlying premis was that there has been intelligent apex life on earth before. Even when you consider the science of it, the theory stands up, it depends on the old "the absence of proof is not proof of absence" idea, but I think it still stands up.

Any novel by Matthew Reilly... my favourite author, great writer of military fiction! He really knows his stuff!
Ice Station is a good one to start off with!

I agree, good written. The books area all about good verse evil no real grey areas. A bit like a John Wayne movie.

I have been meaning to read His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik.
It's basically an alternative-history of the Napoleonic Wars with air-forces of dragons...
