http://qonqr.com/QONQR players are members of teams (3 factions: The Legion, The Faceless, The Swarm), whose focus is to capture territory on the real map of the earth, corresponding to the players' actual location. Players help their team by deploying NANOBOTS, invisible robotic soldiers, into locations they visit. Similar to strategy board games like RISK™, the team having the largest force in any specific geography, controls that location. The team controlling the most locations in a region, controls that region. In turn, those that control the most regions, control the country, and so on.
iPhone and Windows phone platform has been out for two years apparently with players still active from launch; Android is a beta-opt in (pm jazzycat for invite instructions).
I've been playing for a day now under The Swarm (feel free to choose any faction you like, though, to keep things competitive), and it's addictive, fun and free - though there are micro-transactions involved if you don't want to wait for credits/resources to accumulate over time from your bases, and when you start you're equipped with 1-2 bases and several nanobot and energy refresh packs.
You and your bases can't be killed, but you can lose the zones you've captured which hurts how quickly your resources can generate (eg. if your base is in a faction-friendly zone, you earn more and faster, if your base is in enemy territory, it takes longer).
You can choose to destroy and redeploy a base, but to do so you have to TRAVEL in the real world to that suburb.
...and I'm sleepy now, so I'll talk about it more later if anyone is interested.
