Does anyone know of an application that will optimize a PC. My boot time has some how become staggered yet I cant quite pinpoint what, Chopped and changed startup config in the msconfig and looked around but seem perplexed. Ran defrags and CCleaner over but still cant work out why I now have a PC that seems to startup slower than normal.

I am find to blow it away and rebuild it as I have all games on a separate drive and data, IE docs, pics, vids on another drive, along with all of this backed up to an external drive and to a NAS.

Thoughts ?

I've always found spending a couple of hours backing up, reinstalling windows and selectively restoring critical files/programs as I need them to do far more good than spending the same couple of hours trying to "clean" a machine.

Yeah. Leaning that way too. Wipe and go again. Was hoping there may be a magical program that could assist some how.

Bahahahaha, really? Format and run it again. Brand new SSD if you do not have one all ready and it will run like the wind bullseye! Then overclock the shit out of your CPU, Ram and video card! one V8 maloo and large penis extension.

Have Holden finally realised they need to start selling those together?

I go with a yearly reformat on my rig. Plus it kind of helps that I use an SSD as well.

I often take a recovery image of my system with a freshly installed O/S plus any essentials that need to be installed after.

When I need to refresh my system, the process is much quicker and less effort.

There are quite a few recovery image applications out there. There's a good simple one at www.drivesnapshot.de and there's also acronis ; windows deployment services etc.
