And the right/correct/fresh ingredients.

Eg. 2L Fish Stock <> 2L Fish Sauce

Pesto Pasta
1.Put pasta in boiling water
2, pour cream into frypan, add 3-4 teaspoons of pesto. Allow to boil/reduce on a medium flame for 5-10 minutes.
3. season with salt and pepper
4. Put pasta in frypan, stir it in.
5. Put on plate.
6. Eat

Requires no prep, takes about 15 minutes all told, tastes good. I prefer sun dried tomato pesto, and I add a handful of sundried tomatoes to the mix. You can bulk it out with a couple of splashes of vegetable stock. The beauty of this receipe is that all the ingredients have super long shelf lives(use long life thickened cream). SO you buy this stuff, stick it at the back of the cupboard, and when the cupboard is bare you have a tasty dish as a fall back with ingredients you bought a year ago.
