So I've noticed there's a few gun nuts in the clan, Post em if you've got em.

I'll start off with my new build.

NEA (Canadian Made) AR-15 (5.56 NATO)

Just got this one last week after selling my previous AR. These NEA-15's are relatively new on the market - only coming into production less than 2 years ago, these are the first rifles ever produced by North East Arms (A subsidiary of North East Aerospace - who make the landing gear on the FA/18 Hornets, among other things). They've been getting really good reviews across the board - the build quality is pretty phenomenal for the price.

My plan for this build is something along the lines of a Mk12 SPR - Except not as ugly. The current barrel is a free floated 18" match grade with 1:7 twist - which should in theory produce some good groups with higher grain bullets, I've only been firing standard 55gr so far, but these are supposedly pretty good with anything up to 77gr.

Current optics are an Artic Fox 2.5x Prism sight that I initially purchased for my older, shorter AR which was going to be a lightweight bush-bashing setup. My plan for this one is to slap on a 3-9 or 4-14 vari-power scope on and see what it can do out at longer ranges. I've got my eye on a Leupold Mark AR and some nice rings, but one thing at a time - I'd also like a Timney 3lb match trigger and a chromed bolt carrier, but unfortunately I'm not made of money.

I'm pretty sure that was a .48 or .50 and the ear muffs were loaners.... '>_>

I usually fire a .38 and the .22 are plinky/fun! Cheesy

Here's mine...

Ruger GSR

.308 winchester
Leupold FX-II Scout IER 2.5x28mm scope
10 round polymag
less than 1m long and light as a feather, perfect for trekkin through thick bush and shooting out vehicle windows. Excellent rifle for what its built for, i took it to the range and shot 40 rounds in a 10" group using iron sights at 600m and its built for 350m engagements lol

Next one

Savage 93R17 TR

.17 hmr
3-9x40 Nikon Buckmaster scope
Good gun, its a sure change from the .22lr and .22mag although i still shoot .22lr's cause ammo is dirt cheap. I picked off 30 rabbits and 2 fox at a property at roughly 180m with this on a still day and a it out does the .22lr & mag by a long shot imo only thing is i gotta make sure i headshot the fox with the .17

Nice weapons not to fussed on the .17 as the the old .17 was a better round and center fire and the 308 is awesome cause its a Ruger  but all in all both would do the job and what loads are you using in the 308

yeah any gun can do the job, i saw that ruger gsr and i had to have it, i wanted something short n sweet. I dont reload cause i aint got the space in my unit so i gotta mate that i buy bulk ammo from, i pay $1 a round if i buy 500rnds
American Eagle 150grain fmj's (just for targets n shit)
Federal Powershok soft points for hunting 150gr for dogs and 180gr for deer
i dont think ill bother reloading the .308 cause i get ammo so cheap but im still saving the brass just incase i change my mind.
.17 fireball and .17 rem arent bad but i just dont see the point in having such a big bang for such a light bullet

That's some crazy eye relief on the .308, do you have to lean really far forward to get a clear picture in the scope or what?
