I recall someone volunteering to do vids a while ago, a youtube channel would be sweet, but a lot of work. I could be wrong but there was a downloadable version for Fraps on the website.

Damit had the fraps stuff sorted and youre right some oen else wanted to do vids.

I often wonder if we had a fortnightly or monthly game night and if there was a prize, would that entice other newbies to tell their mates "Join here and be social can win you shit!"

We could get Dex to offer up something from ACT as a reward or something from steam.

Just an idea.

I think it's just generally the clan doesn't want to fork out money to bring in new members, and with good reason. We've got this far without paying more than server rentals.

I can also see prizes etc. being a double edged sword. If you're not great at a game, the added pressure of a prize may end up frustrating people.

Youtube vids would be good. They only cost time to make, in essence.

Also it could be argued that people should want to participate anyway without there needing to be some sort of material reward for doing so Wink

The only 'competition' that was cool was the one that Donut organised on the forums about naming the game to which esoteric screenshots belonged (ignore the fact that I won a prize Kiss ).

We can bring in new members without selling out more than our bodies and Norton. xD

Lol.

Maybe make a a thread for the weekly game night MVP. A thread where one outstanding player could be singled out for either good scores, helping people, humor....etc. almost like the employe of the month parking space at your work .

Maybe use reverse psychology in order to produce an air of exclusivity. A slogan like "You can't join Death Inc., so don't even try" would get the attention of possible members. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen  Evil

I think that would create a reputation of elitism.

I like this, we've had similar things before, but not as prizes for weekly social nights. The idea of not necessarily rewarding points, but teamwork, sportsmanship or funny buggery makes it a lot more inclusive.

So I was totally taking the piss as I had nothing original or constructive to add. BTW I have no problem with being elitist; I am a PC gamer.
