You see, the question implies that American citizens are stupid. Miss Teen South Carolina obviously agrees with this and feels strongly about it. However, if she just came out and said that then her chances of winning the competition would be 100 to none. Suttlely, she gave a perplexing and confusing answer to illustrate the fact that the majority of American citizens are stupid. She also adds in Africa, a hot and controversial topic and boy didn't she discuss it well! On top of this, she doesn't know where the USA is herself so her answer needed to move away from the original topic. And move away she did! All the way to education in Africa!

What an intelligent brave girl. +1 Miss Teen South Carolina, a true US American!

On a more serious note, I love how she implies that American education is so shit, and that the US should instead be trying to help African and Asian education because US students are so hopeless that the Africans and Asians have a better chance of actually doing something with their lives XD
