Dear Chalice, I know this question has been asked before but it seems to be a hot topic and I believe I have figured a way to complete time travel, I require your assistance to help me improve on my current idea.

The other day as I was in the shower washing that bit between my asshole and my ballbag. I began to think, I wonder if I could travel back in time....
I came up with one possible way to do so  Cool.
Ok so if I was in a space ship and I took off from earth at double the speed of light for 12 months and landed on a planet ( planet Magicland ) and set up my pocket sized Hubble telescope all at double the speed of light ( 2160000000kph ) I would be able to watch my self take off, because that image was travelling at 1/2 the speed as me.............Right......... . so would I be able to see 6 months in the past?
Sooooo if I travel back home at double the speed of light, I would land 6 months before that image (the 6 month old image I saw on planet Magicland)..........

SOOOOOOOO I think if I could travel at double the speed of light for 12months I would come back 12 months prior to when I left.  PDT_Armataz_01_36

Is this true?

According to theories of special relativity and time dilation, if you transmitted a signal that moved faster than light from A to B, then it can be observed at B for a short period before it was transmitted at A.

These theories also stipulate that it takes an infinite amount of energy to accelerate something to the speed of light, let alone faster. There theoretically exists some objects that already travel faster than light, called tachyons. But you wouldn't be able to accelerate yourself any faster, since it takes infinite energy.

I'm not an expert and this is just my admittedly basic understanding but you can look this up on wikipedia or something if you're interested. As far as I understand it your scenario isn't possible. I'd suggest you just stick to masturbating in the shower.

if you were traveling at 1/2 the speed of light and pointed a torch out the wind screen would the light be moving at 1.5 times the speed of light or would it just look super bright.
or if you managed to reach almost the speed of light would turning the torch on cause the battery to charge
or if you were to fire a gun at the windscreen when traveling close to light speed i.e. light speed - 100 fps would the bullet travel at the normal 3000 fps relative to the gun or <100fps because of the light speed limit or would the entire spaceship slow down due to recoil to allow the bullet to reach its normal velocity.

if you could approach light speed and travel in the opposite direction to the solar system you should be able to reach a relative speed greater than light speed but still not see yourself leave

Well Magic...I'm glad you asked!

The simple fact of the matter is you may be on to something here and as such you can literally...go fuck yourself!

Hope that doesn't help,

Chalice
