Hi guys recently I just bought my self a beast computer to play BF3 on but every day I'm having problems with Internet explorer and Mozilla firefox. It's normally when I start up my computer I go to use the net and it comes up as "error" like the internet is offline. Mozilla sez "Error page cannot be displayed". And asks me to try again. Internet explorer sez something like that and gives me the option to diagnose. It gets very frustrating and I do not know how to fix it. Any suggestions on how to fix.

Cheers

check the bottom right corner to see if you're connected, if there's anything red than that means bad.

also if it says "no internet connection" that means that you dont have internet right now.
Good Luck!

I'm with Bigpond ADSL2+
When it happens it doesn't say nothing at the bottom right like not connected. I'm connected but when i go into internet explorer and mozilla sometimes nothing just comes up just sez sez error. If i can il take a screeny and put them both up when it comes up. Some times I do loose connection and a yellow caution sign comes up at bottom right so I just reset my router and it's fixed within 2 min.
Il put those screeny's up next time it happens.  PDT_Armataz_01_12

ok check your IP address when it occurs again for it may have something to do with that, it also sounds like it might be a DNS issue with the router also but will not be able to tell without more info

next time it happens try putting in google's DNS as a test (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

also when the issue occurs does power cycling the router help?

This is what happens. And I have to wait sometimes 5 min until I can start using it again.

Hey, do you know which modem you have, if not look on the under side usual will list a make & model number...

I have seen the telstra modems still being configure to connect on demand, and they drop off and dont hold connection.

I have also seen the a few exchanges have been reconfigured and the modem's cannot hold sync - (keep connection).

Is there any other hardware between you and the ADSL?

and lastly for now, do you know how to login into you modem and check its connections status, when you get the failed connection messges?

http://192.168.0.1 - when the browser faisl to connect go to this address (being your modem)
