my new found fun.....
Well its been just over 3 months in this new role and I figure I better share with you my new found fun. You see, I sit at the door that is the main entrance to the building, plus, it is the same door you need to go through to go to the toilets. And another plus side is I can see the lunch room / coffee machine / cuppa chino maker. So I have some down time between jobs so I get time to read manuals, study and take note of who goes where, you soon begin to realise that there is a pattern in the in / out goings of people.
now when I am on my downtime moments and I need something to do, I have taken great liberty in attempting to see if I can burst someones bladder. As you know, people walk past, so as I see them making there way to the door, I will ask them a question pertaining to their field and add in some reasoning to the question along with an ending statement with a 'why' mixed in to force them to explain the answer in depth while I nod and ask more leading questions.
So far I get responses of people who are always happy to talk, but you kind of notice that the more I ask, either;
a) their face seems to become a more brighter or darker shade of red. I am guessing that depends on if they are holding onto a number 1 or a number 2 (still testing on colours and outcomes)
b) they fidget, and the more they fidget / pace the more questions I ask to the point where they give up and just leave me with a short answer
c) a little bit of leakage may of occured because they just leave me without a proper end to my questions.
I have also had mixed results on time frames of making people wait with me while I talk and ramble. Some people dont hold out too good and seem to need to make a runner after 10 seconds of talk and some seem to find a new Dr Who Tardis potty in their pants to releave themself too and then jam me with a bunch of useless answers that bore me for the next 20 minutes....
Anyways, it seems to keep me entertained for this Xmas period and will soon end as the workload increases, but, what do you do thats fun and entertaining to pass time at work?
