Hello all,

I am hoping someone will be able to help out with my current issue.

At present i can only play BF3 for around a minute before it crashes to desktop.

The past couple of crashes have resulted in an error advising that the display drivers have recovered from a serious error.
(These drivers are the latest drivers that have been released for BF3.)
Because of the corrupt drivers I have downloaded these several times (from differing locations) just in case i have received a corrupt file but to no avail, still the same issue.

I did think at first it was an issue with the Realtek audio drivers (as some other people have had issues) so i purchased a Sound Blaster USB & disabled the Realtek sound card but was still crashing.

Current Comp Specs:
Asus P8P67 PRO V3 L1155 P67
Intel Core i7 2600K Processor LGA1155
G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800
Gigabyte ATI 6970 OC2 2G
Corsair Force Series 60GB SSD2.5 (Windows 7 pro only)
Seagate SATA3 2TB Barracuda (Programs)

Cheers

Have you tried underclocking your video card?

With windows i assume it is 64bit?

Have you tried rolling back to a previous driver for the video card

Does it only happen with bf3 or does it happen with any other games especially dx11 games

If other games only thing I can suggest is to reinstall of windows
If only bf3 it could be corrupted game files causing the driver to crash so reinstall bf3

We'll i have found out the problem & it looks like i will be sending the Graphics Card back under warranty.

I have just installed a 4650 & was able to play no problems.
Also played MW3 but unfortunately the card overheated as it is a non fan GC.

Now all i have to do is go through the pain of dealing with UMart.

Hmmm modern graphics card, no fan....not a good idea.... Also someone else had this problem and updated punk-buster manually and fixed.

Yeah did try that before installing the temporary GC.

The GC displayed was in my HTPC, was never a system designed for games.
