not sure if anyone here can help me. I need some chips programmed. I have the JED and BIN files but I don't know what to do with them....

this is what I have:

 U27-16v8d25.jed
 U21-20v8a.jed
 U59-16v8d25.jed
 U70-16v8d25.jed
 U31-27c256-120.bin
 U60-22v10.jed

apparently U60 doesn't work in a rewritable GAL, it must be a write-once PAL. The others can be GAL and U31 is obviously an EPROM.

anyone who can assist will be compensated Smiley

We use a JED system at work to control some of our AV equipment.
Is this the same thing? if so we use a company called GT Innovations they might be able to put you onto a guy who can assist.

I think that's different. These are just integrated circuits and JED system seems to be a brand name of a company that makes A/V controllers and switching equipment.

The JED file extensions are short for JEDEC.
Thanks anyway

yeah that's who I was talking about. Although if they're in the business of designing their own electronics maybe they can program the chips too. Might be worth a call if I don't get any luck locally.

what equipment did they come from? generally all eprom i deal with comes preprogrammed form a supplier, however some of the gear we have from the late 80s, early 90s allows to upload files to rom and then save them to eprom for running on systems, though we ussually do that whilst interfacing to the equipment in question directly

you should be able to use an eprom programmer.
Try PCB companies or electrical engineers.
I have not seen one for a long time though
