My dads dvd drive fucked itself in the arse.  Does anyone have an old 4 pin molex powered dvd drive?

Would greatly appreciate it.

He probably thought you meant molex power to SATA data converter hence his response, so I don't think he was a little bastard you just had a failure in communications

Some hard drives won't work with a SATA->MOLEX power adapter, since the SATA power connector has a a 3.3V wire which is absent from a MOLEX connector.
Most optical drives don't need this though (many are in fact just IDE drives with a SATA interface converter chip)

But yes, MSY is terrible and you shouldn't buy from them.
For $30 I don't see why you wouldn't just buy a new one with a warranty.
It would probably cost at least $20 for me to mail you one of these rusty old burners I've got sitting around.
