Just rewatching this series at the moment, and came across this scene again. My wife didn't quite get it, but I think it is a blokey thing. There is something entertaining about watching two guys work together without the need to talk. It reminded me of my years as a chef and the non verbal communication kitchens depend on. One head chef I worked with who couldn't speak any english, but we worked well together none the less. He would drink all night and by the end he would be pissed and would yell at everybody in Italian, good times.
