it almost requires a designated user. (specialist). when my brother and my self team up we actually use a rifleman/grenadier combo, he takes the GL i take a rifle and when his first round of ammo runs out i feed him another bag, we use it like a mortar, especially if  i go as SL. i call bearings and range and he uses smoke to mark positions and then i call the drop when FFE is initiated. it can be very effective.

I completely agree with ya mate...just like our dedicated MG's the GL needs if not more so, someone trained and very familiar with its use...its a great tool to use in killing enemy holed up in apartment blocks...even if you just smack away at the outside walls, it causes the suppression effect and will allow us to Bang & Clear.
