Hey guys, was looking for some suggestions for games that are easy to lan in an office. Keeping in mind that there games requiring any kind of online authentication are out and people are unwilling to go through the effort of going through any kind of extensive set-up to allow cracked games that normally do need a connection, not to need one any more.

We have played and grown tired of many versions of CoD(including the starwars mod), BF2, Quake and UT. Currently playing a mod for BF2 called AIX, which is really awesome by the way! I don't care that a blackbird is a reconnaissance aircraft not designed for dog fighting, it's just too awesome not to have in the game. Also the guns shoot straighter haha.

Any ideas for different games when we finally grow bored of AIX?

There's always Minecraft and modded variations thereof. If that's not what you're looking for, there's an open-source game similar in principle to Natural Selection that's called Tremulous, which was quite fun.

But otherwise, just what's been said. Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft, Age Of Empires. Solid LAN games.

Yeah RTS is not really very suited to hour long gaming sessions at lunch during the week.

Don't lfd and half life require steam? And i never knew duke3d had a multiplayer.

Used to play Duke Nukem 3D in the computer labs at uni a long time ago. So much fun until we got busted.
