Bad news: THQ's fallen on hard times as of late. Money's getting tight and belts are getting tighter. Worst of all, Spongebob and his merry band of licensed kids' games are getting the boot. Spongebob! Is nothing sacred? However, very, very good news: We get more Saints Row out of the deal. And what's this I'm hearing about a new Company of Heroes?

THQ CEO Brian Farrell explained in an investor announcement:

"THQ will be a more streamlined organization focused only on our strongest franchises."

"The success of Saints Row: The Third is an example of what our revised strategy and focus can achieve. We have now shipped 3.8 million units globally and are currently expecting to ship between five and six million units lifetime on this title. Additionally, our robust digital content offerings for this game have resulted in the highest digital revenue of any console title in our history."

The announcement went on to mention THQ's current plan of attack against our wallets. The big names? Darksiders II, Saints Row, Warhammer 40K, Guillermo del Toro's inSane, an unnamed game from Assassin's Creed creator Patrice D?silets' team, and - drumroll, confetti explosion, grim reflection on the horrors of war - Company of Heroes.

Last month, the rumor mill spat out a particularly juicy piece about a full-blown sequel to Company of Heroes, so this matches up with that pretty well - especially given that the only other CoH project, Company of Heroes Online, was ultimately canceled.

Regardless, we're getting more brilliant World War II RTSery in some form or another. Well, unless CoH is being rebooted as a gritty modern FPS. And now that I've said that, I'm going to go shower for a few hours. And then gargle acid.

My friend is going to very happy to hear there's another CoH in the works.

Also Saints Row was insanely fun due to it's over the top randomness.
