Video ref is definetly needed. Not having one makes this kind of fakery a legitimate part of the game. That team was getting hammered, and they managed to take the best player of the opposing team  of the field.

People will surely crack the shits and just stop watching if they don't do something to stop the cheating shit.
The ref's have way too much power, it's so open to corruption.
I think video ref for any red card would bring the game back to being about kicking a fucking ball. Although they'd probably lose alot of fans from the popular teams, like Italy, when they start losing badly because they're shit at the actual game.

calm your farms guys, you cannot just blame the referees for everything in the game. No matter what desicion the referee makes it is going to upset some people. Im not saying that it was a good call. I also say that there is a lot of pretty shocking play. The players always play everything up for the cameras and the ref. No one can ever be seen in the wrong.

Soccers a shit sport anyways so who cares :)
