Title: Re: Fictional Table Of Fictional Elements Post by: DonutKing on 12/04/2010, 08:11 AM Unobtainium is actually an old expression used to describe a material or device that was expensive or in limited supply. The writers of Avatar were too lazy to think of a name for the substance in the movie so they just called it unobtainium, the word has been around long before that though.
Also if you really want to know about this stuff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_elements,_materials,_isotopes_and_atomic_particles wikipedia truly has an article for everything ??? also my contribution: melange from dune Title: Re: Fictional Table Of Fictional Elements Post by: bray182 on 12/04/2010, 08:42 AM not sure if this can be considered one but

Title: Re: Fictional Table Of Fictional Elements Post by: Robbojlr on 12/04/2010, 04:51 PM Mithirl - WoW Thorium - WoW Thorium is a naturally occurring, slightly radioactive metal. It is estimated to be about three to four times more abundant than uranium in the Earth's crust. It has been considered a waste product in mining rare earths, so its abundance is high and cost low. Mithril has been in Lord of the Rings - Written way before wow was developed. Title: Re: Fictional Table Of Fictional Elements Post by: Ametros on 12/04/2010, 04:55 PM As mythril was in LOTR, it's quite likely it was present in folklore and mythology in some part of Europe long before even then.

So I'm neutral on the whole thing. Unless of course you play Alliance - in which case, FWOOM!! Title: Re: Fictional Table Of Fictional Elements Post by: KARNAGE on 13/04/2010, 06:37 AM Floatilium- Good News Week joke.
