Ok, i NEVER heard about this until this morning.... but i am already intrigued!

Plot:
GAMER is a high-concept action thriller set in a near future when gaming and entertainment have evolved into a terrifying new hybrid. Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games: people play people...for keeps.

Looks like Death Race but FPS style. I don't really like the idea for it, since the actual game would probably suck balls unless they use some kind of fancy, impossible mind control interface thing to control your character. Atleast it has Dexter in it.

it does involve like a 'pod' function where I believe you stand inside and all bodily movements buy you is fused to your avatar, in this case an inmate!

just IMAGINE being a Mingebag in a game like that and doing TK's!

What a stupid idea for a story, I mean how many death row inmates are there? A couple of rounds BF2 or CSS style, and you;re all out of inmates. He's fighting for his kids, oh god, pass me a bucket please. The only thing I buy is the user interface, it isn't far off the motion capture Peter Jackson is making himself rich with.

I wonder if they'll try and pass that guy off as greek again, in 300 he was the greekest greek to ever flip up his kilt and pull on his sporran.

i havent watched the trailer, but the way bageled explains it makes it seem kind of like "The Condemned"...a bunch of inmates on death row were purchased and put on a private island to battle it out for the entertainment of millions.

I didn't like it in Death Race when the Juggernaught truck thingy came out. That's not the kind of shit the viewers would want to see. It killed everyone too easy. A fairer fight would be much more interesting.

when i saw the name of this movie i thought it was about some american nerd who has no life, but seeing the plot i think "hasn't something like this been done before?"

Rofl. We watched Battle Royal in Japanese last year (Our teacher was useless). When the guy got shot on the couch was dead I thought well, It's the end. But noooo he comes alive and answers the friggen phone! Scared the heebie jeebies outta me.

i want to see surrogates. Gamer is kinda like it, you control a robot-human instead of yourself. Its got bruce willis so even with no storyline itll be good.
