Title: Cooking with Chalice Post by: KylieilyK on 28/07/2009, 04:41 PM Okay, so I get home from work today to find that Chalice has 'tried' to 'bake' a 'cake' as a surprise, (I use those terms loosely)...
This is what he was trying to make: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/KylieilyK/Chocfudgecake.jpg) Well, this is what I got instead: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/KylieilyK/DSC00269.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/KylieilyK/DSC00270.jpg) btw you can turn the plate upside down and the 'cake' is completely stuck to it! The whole house reeks of 'cake' - it looks all lumpy?? and I have no idea how... so he made me try some, (which was an absolute mistake!!), I gagged! Seriously Chalice, you are not the next 'MasterChef'!! Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Chalice on 28/07/2009, 04:44 PM nom nom nom.
I do private lessons LOL It DOES kind of resemble a steak huh? BTW The shiny stuff is NOT icing...it just sort of happened and we're trying to determine exactly what it is!!! p.s. The cats wont go near it Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Dex on 28/07/2009, 04:46 PM Oh, so sweetening her up to get a 3sum didnt work chal?

Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Chalice on 28/07/2009, 04:54 PM Just like my sex life...she laughed at it and then I made her gag :D
Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: bageled on 28/07/2009, 05:14 PM That is awesome Chalice, absolutely awesome, I honestly wish I could cook like that. How can you do that to a premix?!? You really should give classes.
A wise man once said to me, never do well, what you don't want to do twice. When I first met my wife, one of the first things I did was cook her dinner, damn it, now I cook more often than her. If you ever get lost and find yourself in a grocery store, check out these little bad boys (http://www.bettycrocker.com/images/WarmDelights/MainGraphic.png) Betty Crockers Warm Delights. They're fantastic and it is impossible to fuck them up...I think....you mix in water, throw them in the microwave for a few mintues, and it's done. Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Chalice on 28/07/2009, 05:17 PM God damn it....where were you earlier, mine was a full blown recipe...what the fuck do they mean -"whisk egg whites until theyre soft points" anyway?
How the fuck am I supposed to bake a cake and know what the fuck they're talking about when they say shit like that? Coulda just gone and bought one of those little beauties and BAM insta cake 9000...Fuck you Betty Crocker for never being there when I need you , dirty little tramp...go fuck a muffin ya whore Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: YosimeteSam on 28/07/2009, 05:25 PM Chal,

Seriously you can turn the plate upside down and shake it hard...and it doesnt move LOL. I've sent the pics & a vid off to masterchef australia as a joke entry...their response - Dear Dean, Thank you for your wonderful pictures and video. In answer to your question, yes the recipe is accurate and there are no mistakes on the webpage. The team do however have a question for you, did you actually try and more importantly, follow the recipe? If you did, you need not apply for the next season of Masterchef Australia, but you did give us a good laugh as we thought it was a steak at first....thank you. Pffftt what do they know about fine dining...LOL Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Fate on 28/07/2009, 08:57 PM hahahahhahahahahha lolz phail much. XD

So I decided to make a large lemon condenced Tart for Kylie when she came home..and for Donut if he comes around on the weekend. The tart shell SHOULD have looked like this - (http://www.pastryitems.com/images/fluted%20dessert%20shell%2031071210.jpg) Instead it looked like this - 1st off...it killed itself..yet strangely looks like a fish trying to eat some food to me..thoughts? (http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/Chalice00/IMG_0107.jpg) But thats nothing a little bit of sticky tape cant fix  (http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/Chalice00/IMG_0110.jpg) Hi Naf :D (http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/Chalice00/IMG_0111.jpg) Really dont know why MasterChef knocked me back :( IF YOU LIKE THIS...AND HAVEN'T SEEN THE STEAK CAKE YET..SEE PAGE 1..ITS AWESOME Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: DonutKing on 03/09/2010, 02:56 PM rofl it looks like a giant corn flake :D

The pac man fish does not compare though Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Alucard on 03/09/2010, 11:15 PM Hey Chalice a few tips when cooking stuff like this
1. a cake tin comes in handy so the cake does not become a feature on the plate :P 2. whisking to white peaks well just mean going crazy with the whisking till you pull out and it will make a peak 3. a mold for the base usually helps to get the cook book look  i am alright at baking, (i have had no complaints) and i have never once made it look like the book :D Title: Re: Cooking with Chalice Post by: Moose on 04/09/2010, 07:19 PM i have never laughed so hard in my life.....
