Title: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: bageled on 27/04/2009, 10:38 AM Just a thought on something that happened on Saturday night.
Early in the round we were right on the edge of the map, and were hit by a couple of enemy squads, there was some to and fro, and it ended when everyone was killed, but me. All of you guys spawned at the other firebase . So I'm lying prone in the grass, try to figure out where the bad guys were, I'm crawling away from where I thought they were in the high grass, when all of a sudden, two of them come running up over the hill and straight past me. They almost stepped on me. So I hosed them both down, then a third one appeared, and I almost got him to, but the time it took me to go to iron sights gave him time to drop me. Of course he was the medic, so he rezzed his two buddies, and I got no kills. Those two guys running straight into my sights made me think a little. Should we be more selective with engaging the bad guys. Chalice will doubtless know the answer to this. My thinking was that we designate a target zone, and anything that is spotted outside that, we just call it, but don't shoot it. Seems more of a jungle map thing to me because the visibly range is so short. Just throwing it out there. Stealth and cunning is what it's about, a good deal of luck as well.
Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Chalice on 27/04/2009, 01:54 PM I agree...i wanted blood so we were WAY more aggressive than what was needed :D
Cam & Concealment is the game in the jungle maps and ambushing is the general tactic...so what Bageled's saying is correct, as a SL i will designate a firing arc from say 160 to 300 and we hold fire until its a 100% chance for kills OR if they engage us. Ideally we should use full auto to pump the rounds into the area with the riflemen spamming nades Also we would have 2 squads so as 1 pins the enemy the other flanks...if you think its confusing, imagine the enemy getting hit by a million rounds from the front and the side Damits tips on setting up the graphics may also be a goer...i just haven't cuz i like visual quality Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Z00111111 on 28/04/2009, 07:59 AM Damits tips on setting up the graphics may also be a goer...i just haven't cuz i like visual quality I know what you mean..Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Noraa78 on 29/04/2009, 07:33 AM Damits tips on setting up the graphics may also be a goer...i just haven't cuz i like visual quality I know what you mean..Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Number One on 24/09/2009, 01:51 PM i believe the graphics cheats will be fixed soon , guys so dont rely on that too much. PR devs now have a system that keeps cover even at range.
Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Damit on 24/09/2009, 01:59 PM yeah i noticed about 2 patches ago
Title: Re: JUNGLE WARFARE Post by: Number One on 24/09/2009, 04:44 PM from what i was told it will come into its own in 0.9 supposedly giving really decent cover to forces in long grass and fields, even more so. and something to do with shadowing effects. so i think those poppy fields in the green zone will be very scary
