Not the fastest gun (depends if you classify military lasers as a gun) How would it being stationary only be the advantage? Have you seen the Phalanx (sea-wiz)? http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/weaps/mk-15.htm It is not stationary (its usually on a ship) and it cuts missiles out of the sky like a hot knife through butter (@ 4,500 rounds/min). I worked on these things for the defense industry and have seen what they can do. The software for these things accounts for: - missile trajectory (like Mach 2-3) - bullet trajectory - Greatest threat to the ship - Ship roll - wind velocity - ship speed - etc It can cut the blades off a moving chopper at 1km away without touching the chopper. Yet it was developed over 25 years ago!! Software now will easily negate any weapon in a mobile state (ie. moving).
