Title: SEOuch Post by: bageled on 16/07/2014, 04:19 PM Is it just me or is SEO fucking expensive!?!
What is go with these guys, I've had 3 quotes. $500 a month, $900 a month, and $2,000 a month. WTF do these idiots do that is worth so much fucking money? I feel like I'm about to get bent over with no lube. Title: Re: SEOuch Post by: Number One on 16/07/2014, 06:23 PM I have no idea what your talking about?
Title: Re: SEOuch Post by: Z00111111 on 16/07/2014, 06:37 PM Search Engine Optimisation is made up of two main parts.
The first part involves making sure your website is set up in a way that is friendly for Google's webcrawlers. The second part involves paying people to spam links to your website all over the place and run automated searches for your website. The goal of both is to improve your ranking on Google. Isn't your company called Poster Boy or something? You should at least look into getting part 1 of SEO implemented. It only showed up when I searched for poster boy sydney. Just be careful you don't pay a lot of money for someone to only temporarily boost your ranking. There are dirty tricks that can be used, and will work, until Google catches on and demotes or bans your website from its results. Title: Re: SEOuch Post by: cowcar on 16/07/2014, 06:50 PM run a blog, write some content, release a press release with links (pay like 50 bucks for each release through a press release website), tweet it, post it on facebook etc.. you can do all that yourself for 3-4 hours work per week, and get some pretty good results...
would agree with Zoo, customize the website... but the rest is total bs. Remember, Content is King in today's marketing... Title: Re: SEOuch Post by: cowcar on 16/07/2014, 07:33 PM Try these guys for pr releases, I think last time I used them, they were USDD$50. But it went out like everywhere, and got some very good google results...

HODOR! Title: Re: SEOuch Post by: bageled on 17/07/2014, 09:55 AM The hard bit is that I'm in a highly competitive industry dominated by a handful of big players who have been building authority for years. It's a different marketplace, I know who the biggest printers in Sydney/Australia are, and none of them are even near the front page of google. The frontpage of google is a retail space, I've always operated in a B2B space. So challenges ahead.
The first SEO place I spoke to wheeled out an example of their skills for their client in sub floor ventillation. I did a quick Yellow Pages search, and got 16 results, the same search on printing? 1300 results. So I decided to search SEO Sydney, and contacted the first three results. I figured, SEO is what they do, so it has to be super competitive, and if they can do it for themselves they can do it for me. Thanks Cow. You half convinced me I can do it myself, and half convinced me to pay someone to do it for me. 4 hours a week puts it in perspective for me. At $500 a month that's about $30 an hour. I'm thinking I might pay someone to do it for a couple of months, let them do the technical side, and setup everything, then maybe I can take over and do a kind of maintenance mode. Spend maybe an hour a week, do a blog post every other week, keep twitter, instagram and facebook accounts ticking over.
