What a load of whiny bollocks…. More pseudo moral arguments to justify what is ultimately theft. And before people start asking,, I also downloaded (stole) GoT this season, even though I have foxtel…  but his reasoning is idiotic in the extreme….

1] the deal was between foxtel and the creators of the show, and paid for it. Any idiot would know an agreement is between two parties. So the fact that iTunes (a massive vendor lock-in platform for the truly stupid of the world, ie this guy) doesn’t have the rights is because they refused to pay the extra money to do it. They, in their own rights, have obviously crunched the numbers and concluded they wouldn’t make a profit by paying the required amount. Welcome to capitalism 101….

2] I am a tightwad and want it free. I assume this guy would steal a Ferrari and say it was justified because a Hyundai only costs 15k and so he refuses to pay anything?

3] Supposed moral argument but really just the same as number 2. But to answer his question , the price is the amount paid by foxtel to the distributors. Who then pass this onto the creators, actors etc in the form of the amount paid in salaries. To claim that this in not then passed onto the creators and actors is idiotic at best…

4] B.S. disguised as an intellectual statement, but really just picking out a small marketing theory and saying that everyone should do this. This guy really has no commercial idea...

5] Some histrionic argument that makes about as much sense as the rest of his incoherent rant...also confused by the difference between patent and copyright…so again: genius….

So in summary, the title should be : Whiner has a tug about why he stole as well as reveals a shocking lack of understanding on pretty much everything in the world…

Its hard to take you seriously while your avatar waves a sausage and makes suggestive errotic looks.

It's hard to take Cowcar seriously most of the time, but never underestimate his ability to provide insightful, relevant commentary on pretty much anything. Or to do the opposite and shit all over a thread. It's a gamble I'm willing to take.

I don't think Theon Greyjoy (aka Reek) would find it overly erotic....

Nice write up Cow, well presented bullshit with lots of swear words sounds good, but is still bullshit.

It is a strange world we live in at the moment, it feels in between two paradigms. Until the studio's and distributors figure their shit out anyways. I think this guy did touch no something real with his comment on Louie CK. The thing that the internet has done incredibly effectively is to put the consumer in touch directly with the manufacturer, or wholesaler, basically take out a middleman. The whole distribution industry is teetering on the edge of collapse.
The successful model would have to be an instant global streaming, pay per view on the studios website. Even drop the thing onto YouTube, and insert ads from local advertisers. With a show like GoT as flagship you could launch a site that would instantly have the traffic to compete with YouTube.
