Can someone please tell me what Google Plus is and why I should give a fuck.

it is googles version of face book. it is pretty good since it does not have the standard things that facebook does. some of how it works it pretty strange but i go on it now and again when i am bored and dont want the dram involved in facebook

Google plus is to Facebook what living in a caravan is to living in a house.... You should love it

It is very similar to wallowing in your own sewage, so if thats your thing..... (mind you i would say the same about facebook...)

So basically it's for google to find out what people like and include those factors into their search algorithms. Generally i use it to post interesting stuff for workmates and friends who actually might like to read something interesting as opposed to my facebook friends who just want to tell me what they had for breakfast.

 

I came across it recently, and I think it is a little evil. Listing your business on it is a quick way to improve your SEO on google. Seems a little like a gun to the head, though it is slightly better than yahoo who have a paid directory that also improves your seo.

Pretty much. It's also got some widget apps to share/stalk your own and friends locations, and private storage of pics and vids as you take them, until you choose to share them, etc.

I just sign up to a whole bunch of science-related groups and feeds and use it as a dynamic magazine to read when I've got nothing else on hand.
