I loved world of tanks when it first came out and remember saying that I would really like a plane version of it. When they announced World of Planes I was all excited by the prospects of taking to the skies in a FTP WW2 flight game. Well I got into the beta for WOP and was not impressed. I did on the other hand find a game called Warthunder, bad name but great game. If you like flight sims you really should try the open beta for the game http://warthunder.com/
The graphics are really good and it is a good balance of sim and arcade leaning more to the sim side. I did have to tweak my 360 pad to get the controls the way I wanted them, but after that the game handled great. I see that it is coming to steam soon, so if it does and you like flight sims give it a try.

I think I've played this a few months back, was only early Beta then but I thought it was much better than World of Warplanes.

who's playing and whats the lag like

So far its Eli and myself and there is Zero lag for both of us. Our pings were both in the 130's and its so much smoother then MWO, the game just works well .  60 FPS on ultra settings  and the game looks really really good.

I can confirm that even though my ping is high, the game plays perfectly and hits are registered accurately. Performance is better than MWO too.
