Title: Table-top Gaming in Melbourne
Post by: eli on 29/12/2012, 08:42 AM
I've been with Death Inc for a couple of months now playing a bunch of Mechwarrior Online, which has been heaps of fun. I find myself wanting to play more table-top games, but my friends are content with Settlers of Catan and I'd like to play something more complex. Are any Melbourne people interested in a table-top gaming day/night, maybe for some Battlestar Galactica or the Star Wars: X-Wing miniatures game?

I'll do it if someone sets it up. I have a bit of a collection of board games, the best ones being Battlestar Galactica and Warhammer: Chaos in the Old World.

Complex, but good. It's a cooperative game, where you work together to get the Galactica back to Kobol. The catch is that 1-2 of the players are secretly Cylons and can use a bunch of different mechanics to clandestinely hamper the efforts of the other players.

Or you do what I did the first time I played where I accidentally made everyone a cylon. It took us 40 minutes of playing before we figured it out! Incidentally, can I come and play too? :D

I guess I have to figure out a date and venue now. I can host, but only if it's a small number of people. I will have a think and get back to everybody.

Ok. What about Thursday night next week, 24/01? I'm in Collingwood and my building has plenty of visitor parking and is on 12 bus lines, a tram line and a train line.

Sounds good Eli, count me in, never played some of those board games but am keen to play any games with good people, I'll bring a pack of cards too show you how to play barstard* and switch it*, (card games), some music, some snacks and maybe some beer. Talking about board games I once got cluedo, change some of the rooms, weapons and characters and called it kildo, Added things like toilet, garage, chainsaw, frying pan, M16 and more, I could bring that.
