Title: Beta Forum: How-To for each Mech Class
Post by: jazzycat on 27/08/2012, 06:54 PM
In addition to the stuff on PUGs (which doesn't always apply to us if we're rolling 4+ on TS) this thread also has some good tips for new players or if you're stepping into a mech-class you have no previous XP in (and ya don't feel like asking the others about, which is just bollocks, really).

Also good as a refresher on the basic role/strat of each mech-class though its still got some holes (see 'Dragon', lol).

Commando:  Inferior to Jenner in every way.  Avoid.

Jenner:  Go fast, don't trip.

Centurion:  Small Dragon.  Avoid.

Hunchback: Stay in cover, get close, unleash fury.

Capapult(LRM): Stay somewhere high without skylining yourself.  Ask for targets.  Don't stop firing.  Always have something with missiles being delivered.

Catapult(K2): Twin Gauss FTW.  Kill everything and carry the team.

Dragon: Ram ALL THE THINGS!

Orsm:  You're fat, roll a fast SRM or mplas boat.

Atlas:  Surprisingly good long range support.  Don't ignore Jenners.  If engaged by one, max reverse yourself into a hillside, and let the fucker stray into your cone of fire.

Excellent quick-sheet reference! +1 Pretty much accurate distillations of the classes available so far.
