Post by: Hayden03756 on 02/06/2012, 08:29 AM
I have decided to make this thread so that when E3 starts anyone can post whatever videos/images/articles they want for others to check out. So anyone wanting to see what's happening can just come here, So i may aswell start it off as they are already releasing trailers.

Arma 3-This is just a small trailer showcasing what to expect from E3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tOSjYgGvHw

A new Star Wars game(sadly not Battlefront 3)- http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/01/e3-2012-star-wars-1313-officially-announced

Battlefield 3- DICE will be showing close quarters and Armored Kill DLC and both are going to be playable so hoping for some more information on that- http://www.fpsgeneral.com/news/battlefield-3/20543-dice-bringing-close-quarters-armored-kill-dlc-to

Skyrim- New DLC trailer and info released yesterday so hoping to see more at E3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZqXKZOS2jQ

Looks like a lot of the ideas from that elder scrolls vid someone posted a while (it was about added content like crossbows and fighting on horses) will be intorduced via the dlc. that diving dragon is an interesting concept though.

skyrim dlc?

This Star Wars 1313 sounds good IF its set in the empire period and not republic (i.e. new trilogy) period. But then 'cover shooter' sounds like a Mass Effect clone so it might suck anyway. I think I'd rather just play Dark Forces

dex will love the new star wars operation named at the 18 second mark... seems like they made the game for him.
the rest seem quite "meh"... would be interested in seeing some multiplayer from MOH though...

Im sure we will see a bit of multiplayer and yeah it does look good, Cant wait to play it. Also guys couldn't help but not notice in the Close Quarters Trailer there is a new gamemode called Gunmaster if you have played counter strike source or Black ops this mode will look very very similar.

Are maps in ARMA 3 persistent? Can tactics stretch over days, weeks, maybe even months? Also note that there are multiple continents running simultaneously, not just that one map in Planetside 2.

But are all those continents on one actual map, where you fly from that one directly to the next? Or do you have to load each continent? and for ARMAs persistence it depends on the server/mode.

There are persistent gamemodes, but ARMA never got the publicity nor the player base it deserves to uphold these large persistent games. Recently with the DayZ mod, there have been an inflow of over 200,000 people buying the game, and ARMA 3 looks to absolutely total smash copies sold of ARMA and ARMA 2 collectively. Plus not alot of ARMA's gameplay comes from Player vs Player combat, most of it is Co-Operative missions and tasks.

tl;dr Can be persistent, but best co-op games ever made. ARMA 3 looks good.
