Also you should be able to release your external IP lease via the router administration pages. Couldn't find your older on the netgear website but found other models the just had a release button on the external connection page. I came back to their live chat about 5 hours later, and I got routed to the same live chat guy and he pretty much picked up where I left off 5 hours previously, and told me I couldn't get a residential package because I was a business.
So I figure they have logged my IP, so if I can get a new IP I can start fresh and just get a residential package, which costs half as much. Just got off the phone to telstra and they told me they couldn't change it, and suggested I turn off the router for 24 hours and that might work. I've read about cloning MAC addresses but I don't think my router has the functionality. Even then you may end up with the samw ip.

Do you have another network device that can bridge a link ?
