Title: Need a serial - just serach google images so it seems
Post by: Syklone on 02/02/2012, 01:45 PM
Unsure if people have come acorss this, but here at work I picked up two copies of Windows 7 - 64 and 32 bit. Made an ISO as I really dont need them on disk - just as a reference.

Edit - the MS Windows 7 are Windows 7 Home as I have VLK Windows Ent at work.

Nothing flash as i needed them for my tech library for the off chance I may need it some day. But then we commented on how we would get a licence key if we needed to do a dodgy without trawling through forum threads of insane ad and malware webpages.

I looked around our office and we are 20 laptops to 1 PC and on the underneath of a laptop is of course a rego key for Windows 7. This made us here ponder, "How dumb would some one be to write/blog or post a scan or photo of their laptop and put it on the net?"

Thus;

And now I feel my life is complete, next week I plan on surfing the net for those peopel who like to leave their car keys on the dash while they go shopping with the windows down so 'pinky' the dog doesnt get hot.

That's a Home Premium OEM key, you realise that its activated with Microsoft right? if you activate more than a few times, or on different hardware than it was originally activated, you actually need to call Microsoft and explain why you are activating an OEM key on machine different to the one it was sold with (OEM keys are non-transferable between machines). Plus Home editions can't join a domain. Pretty useless for any sort of office/corp environment.

admittedly its pretty silly putting it up on the internet but even so that key is pretty useless for your purposes. Besides, for all you know that key may already be reported as pirated so won't let you activate.

I know you need to call it in - I did a few Home EUS for people who crapped a machine and you would reinstall the OS, call MS and explain the OS died and your re installing from scratch.

I was just befuddled and amused people did it. Edit - I am shocked it was easy to see. :(

I could probably find more but a lot of the web searches I do are blocked :(

IE - another :( http://repair4laptop.org/contrib/sony_vaio_vgn_ar61zu/pics/sony_vaio_vgn_ar61zu_dissection_86.jpg (http://repair4laptop.org/contrib/sony_vaio_vgn_ar61zu/pics/sony_vaio_vgn_ar61zu_dissection_86.jpg)

Or technically NO sticker on the pc, NO Repair, as I understand it.
Microsoft Licensing Requirement for the System Builders to afix the lablel to the pc.

This shit (topic) needs to stay on ocau or whirlpool, if we are investigating sponsorship, we cant be condoning this idea.
