As a big fan of the Ghost Recon series i'm really disappointed in their decision, cant believe i missed this article.
Read it, it shows how piracy is deterring people from creating games for the PC platform, or because ubisoft cant be fucked somehow porting their piece of shit 'kinect' powered game to the PC.

Agreed, their drm fucking sucks, I keep getting kicked out of anno 2070 because I lose connection to the server even though my internet is working fine. Its easier to pirate their games.

I've found most of their games run pretty well. Not really sure what you mean by console port though... I don't think such a thing actually exists as they develop for a variety of platforms at the same time (PS3/360/PC).


This is why I stopped buying Ubisoft games, and will continue to do so until systems like this are removed.


You should go look at some sales figures comparing PC to PS3/360 sales and market share before you go claiming "how many people have hacked their consoles". It's fairly obvious which platforms make the most money (It's not the PC with majority of titles). I think a few people probably have consoles that can play illegitimate software, but it really is tiny slice of the pie.
There's a reason why a lot of games go exclusively to consoles and PC users miss out ( See Red Dead Redemption ). It's because the publisher makes a huge tonne of money with a reduced level of piracy on those console platforms, plus it's not as easy to get a hacked PS3/360 to play pirated games compared to a PC.


Ubisoft are a pretty jerkish company though. They used to make some really decent stuff, have a good set of development teams which produce impressive work. It's just unfortunate that they're holding themselves back by DRM / Piracy rubbish. The only people they're really hurting are their loyal fan base who will either continue to purchase their games without caring about DRM, OR, they will just stop buying their games in which case it hurts their bottom line. It's unfortunate but I guess this is the way things are going, hopefully they learn sooner rather than later that people just want to enjoy the products they are creating.

Ah, this old chestnut, it has been a while. Fuck PC and console, I'm a gamer, I don't care how it is delivered, and to be honest lately  I've spent more time playing games on my phone than on either my xbox or my pc.
