Title: Re: Advice on IT Equipment Post by: Chalice on 20/12/2011, 08:28 AM Well Syklone...i'm glad you asked!
Let me assure you that this one had me stumped...at first glance I thought Alienware must have been tupperware for aliens and so in order to figure this out better I created this image. (http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/Chalice00/et.jpg) Then thought..no that cant be right and moved onto the 2nd paragraph where I realized this was a pc question. SO, being the PC guru that I am I have studied this and it looks like a great deal to me, I base this off the following checklist all taken from items in the list they have provided to you - Keyboard ...check Mouse....check An Alienware avatar schematic...check Shipping Documents..check (dont want it to be an assylum seeking PC, so this is a must) Power Cord...check (could've all gone wrong if they left that out so ..phew, crisis averted) Timezone Updates...check (thank god they put that in) An Alienware windows colour theme...check (pimp dat shiz) 3..thats right 3 different mentions of Dell service, might all mean the one thing, but the fact they have mentioned it 3 times = a big ..CHECK I mean i'd pay nearly $9k just for the above items let alone the other stuff...and this isn't including a monitor but hey..who needs one? Graphics will never compete with your imagination as you sit there staring at the wall with your uber pc humming away, imagining how good the fucking graphics must be, getting imagined head shot after head shot as you actually are just staring at some fukin paint on a wall....when in reality the fukin pc has BSOD on you but hey, you donthave that stress..cuz you cant fukin see it as you have no monitor, so go ahead PC, wipe everythging, melt the fuck down..he dont care, he's havin a ball..... So there ya have it, great deal..the power cord sold it for me personally. Now i've got to figure out what to do with all this E.T. endorsed tupperware I made...... Hope that helps, Chal EDIT - On further research I have noticed something. I thought this was an alienware PC? It appears to be completely made up of Dell gear with an Alienware sticker or 2..am I wrong? I have also discovered that if you were to remove most of the alienware BS you could get this pc for around $3k BUT..would you get the shipping documents, avatar schematic, timezone updater and most importantly..the power cord..I THINK NOT SIR! Title: Re: Advice on IT Equipment Post by: Yunique on 20/12/2011, 09:06 AM Seems like a waste of money. Get what I have...
Intel i7-980X EXTREME 3.33GHz 6 CORES CPU Deluxe GIGABYTE EX58A chipset motherboard nvidia GeForce GTX 580 1536MB DDR5 Video Card 24GB DDR3 Memory 2000GB SATA3 HARDDISK Upto 8x SATAII, 2x SATA3.0, RAID 0,1,5,10 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel High Definition Audio GigaLAN, Upto 12xUSB2.0 2xUSB3 3x1394a. Cost about 5k. Worth it... until its outdated Title: Re: Advice on IT Equipment Post by: Syklone on 20/12/2011, 10:51 AM So there ya have it, great deal..the power cord sold it for me personally. Now i've got to figure out what to do with all this E.T. endorsed tupperware I made...... Hope that helps, So it will be ok for World of Warcraft ? (as I dont see a direct answer to that question) If it is ok, can I get a guild running and we move the guys from the BF3 server to join the DIWOW Guild ? Title: Re: Advice on IT Equipment Post by: Chalice on 20/12/2011, 11:25 AM The PC itself SHOULD just run it. As far as teh WoW thing goes if we can all use the alienware avatars its a yes, without no.
IF we do this can I call my guy The Flaming Fanny Flap and his specialty is fire and goo magic? p.s. I cant play wow..was banned for being a tauran, putting on the naked mod and running thru the towns globally spamming "I'm Horny" ...cuz I was a bull, bulls have horns..get it :( (true story) p.p.s. Just to clarify the nine hells would freeze over before I played WoW again UNLESS I went in there to troll it some more and we're taking the piss ;) |
