Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Dex on 21/11/2011, 04:50 PM galaxy S2.
It is the phone of a professional. Not as random or as clumsy as a nokia, but an elegant phone, from a more civilized maker. Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: MrMagic on 21/11/2011, 06:25 PM iPhone 4
Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Carples on 21/11/2011, 07:54 PM Not the 4s and does the Galaxy have a torch
Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: BoHiCa on 21/11/2011, 08:15 PM I went with HTC desire....
3 stage torch / light Decent camera to take shots of those circuit boards in hard to reach places And makes phone calls Runs Android so I can make my own ringtones Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Alucard on 21/11/2011, 08:28 PM a 4s does the job for me
never really like the iphones till my last nokia gave me the shits Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Dex on 21/11/2011, 08:36 PM You can get an app for the torch carples.
I also have a desire, as did my dad. However, he changed to a S2 because the desire has very limited onboard memory, and it fills up real quick, as most apps dont install to the SD card. You can root the phone, forcing all apps to install to SD, but some corporate applications do not allow installation on phones with root access. Dad works for Rio Tinto, and in order to have work emails sent to his phone, it has to have a special app, which as I said, doesnt allow for installation on a phone with root access. When reverting to factory default, and installing this app, it filled the phone memory up and the phone was beyond sluggish. The galaxy S2 has something like 16 or 32 gb of onboard memory along with SD card expansion. The phone is also incredibly light, and is good for people with fat fingers, as the screen is HUGE! Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: narf on 22/11/2011, 05:36 AM Just get an iPhone, everyone except the nerds want iPhones and what's the point of trying to impress the nerds, they'll just want to talk about starwars with you.
Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Sillen on 22/11/2011, 06:11 AM Dad works for Rio Tinto, and in order to have work emails sent to Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: bageled on 22/11/2011, 07:40 AM Don't get a smart phone, get one with buttons. The smart phone screen needs to be clean as do your fingers to work, and they don't like being dropped. Considering your workplace and your general level of personal hygenie, you'll never get teh damn thing to work right. My fucking thing, I use it on a hot day, and I have to wipe my sweat and face grease off the screen or next phone call I won't be able to answer it. I now have a little cloth and spray at my desk to keep the thing functional.
Unless you are sending emails, don't punish yourself, get something you can bounce off walls and use with greasy hands. All these other geeks work in air conditioned cube farms and have soft lady hands. If you are sending emails, I'd suggest a blackberry, primarily on account of the buttons instead of touch screens. Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: DonutKing on 22/11/2011, 08:23 AM the old man's a diesel mechanic and just sticks with a nokia dumbphone with a clear plastic case over the buttons and screen.
not worth getting anything fancier because it will just go to shit and fall apart really quickly. bageled was right if you were a desk jockey then there has only ever been one answer to this question since Steven Jobs invented the iPhone. android is pretty lol. I support both at work and believe it or not the iphone is generally a lot easier to work with (although if the most complex thing you ever do is make phone calls then both are pretty capable) Title: Re: Re: Which Phone Post by: Psych0Kyller on 22/11/2011, 08:25 AM fair enough cordless but apples up pricing from what they pay to build the iPhone is ridiculous its like an extra $600 if you wanted to buy the phone outright
Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Ice on 22/11/2011, 08:34 AM Pretty good customer support, I got a free replacement, out of warranty and damage that I had done myself.
Although as bageled said my dad is a plumber and Nokia are the way to go I think, he swears by them, has dropped them from buildings, they've fallen off tool boxes while driving, pretty sturdy Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Alucard on 22/11/2011, 10:28 AM Put it this way. Not sure where your getting the $250 bucks from my mate replaced his iphone 4 the other week for $179.00 both front and back were cracked and it had liquid damage. I asked the "Genius" and she said apple have dropped it from $250 to $179. The advanced replacement was offered to me even though i did not have Apple care. They do put a hold on your credit card for the value of the iphone and its taken off when they receive your old one. Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: Syklone on 22/11/2011, 11:44 AM Couldn't be fucked reading the whole thing properly. I just skimmed it. But I would like to add that those people who get the big ass Samsung phones cause the screen is bigger and the phone is bigger and so on, are the same people who put it / stow it in their front pockets on their pants to compensate for their small penis and tiny testicles.
But that's just my observation which I had to note down on this forum using my iPhone. Title: Re: Which Phone Post by: cowcar on 22/11/2011, 01:53 PM iphone= big fan of the cock (for proof, look at those in favour of it on this thread)
