Title: Connection Issues Post by: Yunique on 03/11/2011, 03:11 PM Hey Guys,
Currently, during the afternoon I am unable to play. I live above a shop and when ever the phone rings I get dropped. I've tried several fixes, yet no avail. The EFTPOS goes through the same line as the house phone. If you know any way to get around this problem, please let me know. I'll try 'em all. Thanks in advance. Title: Re: Connection Issues Post by: bageled on 03/11/2011, 03:38 PM Get your own line? They usually cable 3 or 4 into each place so the infrastruture should be there.
I lived in a place with a device similar to eftpos and I had the same problem. Title: Re: Connection Issues Post by: DonutKing on 03/11/2011, 03:47 PM Every device apart from the ADSL modem needs a line filter.
So every fax, phone... and eftpos terminal on the same line. The line filter will not disrupt the EFTPOS service, but you'll just have to ask the shop if you can put one on for them. Unfortunately there's not much you can do if they say no. Title: Re: Connection Issues Post by: Yunique on 03/11/2011, 03:53 PM I have 2 line filters setup already, but I'll try again. Probably done them wrong.
Main concern is the cameras I set up for the shop, but I'll get around it. Thanks. Title: Re: Connection Issues Post by: DonutKing on 03/11/2011, 04:14 PM Remember they don't go on the modem, they go on everything else.
Internet dropout when the phone rings is classic symptom of a PSTN device without a filter attached. Title: Re: Connection Issues Post by: Alucard on 03/11/2011, 05:44 PM or get cable Internet
